Hand holding pen illustrationWork-for-Hire Policy

This Work-for-Hire Policy outlines the terms under which NewSky Publishing ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") provides services where ownership of the final work is transferred to the client upon completion and full payment.

This policy applies to projects involving writing, editing, design, content creation, and other custom services performed on behalf of a client.

1. Definition of Work-for-Hire

A work-for-hire arrangement is a contractual agreement in which NewSky Publishing creates content or materials for a client, and ownership of the final deliverable is transferred to the client upon full payment.

Unless explicitly stated, all work-for-hire arrangements must be confirmed in writing.

2. Ownership Transfer

Ownership rights to the final deliverables are transferred to the client only after full payment has been received. Until payment is completed, all materials remain the property of NewSky Publishing.

Once ownership is transferred, the client assumes full responsibility for the use, distribution, and management of the work.

3. Scope of Work

The scope of work, including deliverables, timelines, and revisions, will be defined in a separate agreement or service package.

Any work outside the agreed scope may require additional fees and approval.

4. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing clear instructions, materials, and timely feedback necessary to complete the project.

Failure to provide required information or approvals may result in delays or additional charges.

5. Revisions and Deliverables

Work-for-hire services may include a limited number of revisions as specified in the agreement. Additional revisions beyond the agreed scope may incur additional fees.

Final deliverables are provided upon completion of the project and receipt of full payment.

6. Intellectual Property and Liability

Upon transfer of ownership, the client assumes full responsibility for the content, including any legal or intellectual property issues arising from its use.

NewSky Publishing shall not be liable for how the client uses the work after ownership has been transferred.

7. No Guarantee of Results

We do not guarantee any specific outcomes, including publication success, audience engagement, or financial performance related to the work created.

8. Termination

Either party may terminate a work-for-hire project in accordance with the terms outlined in the agreement. Work completed up to the termination date remains payable.

Ownership transfer will not occur until full payment is received.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NewSky Publishing shall not be liable for any damages arising from the creation, use, or performance of work-for-hire deliverables.

10. Governing Law

This Work-for-Hire Policy shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
